Reminder tomorrow is tie dye day and picture day!

Individual photos start at 8am. Please have swimmers there in team suit or team t-shirt by 8:45 for the team photo, minis included. Apologies for forgetting to attach the photo document to the last email. It is attached and paper copies will be available tomorrow as well.

After the team photo, some kids will do tie dye (please send them with a white shirt and a Ziploc bag with their name on it) and other swimmers will do practice which will focus on starts and turns, and then the groups can swap. Anticipate practices ending by 10:45. Minis will have practice at 11.

End of Season Timed Finals Meet:

For 2021 only due to Covid procedures, the SSL championship meets will be replaced by a single-session, timed finals meet. 

There will be separate sessions for Girls and Boys events. Only Individual Events will be held – NO relays. 

Competition will be limited to a maximum of four heats in each event; places will be awarded regardless of the heat swum. 

LOGISTICS:

Location: Wedgewood Swim Club, 2A Wedgefield Dr, New Castle, DE 19720. Wedgewood is a 6-lane, 25-yard pool. 

Date: Sunday, July 18, 2021 (rain date – Monday, July 19 and Tuesday July 20; Single gender session each day) 

Time: The Girls session will begin at 8:00 am and is expected to last no more than four hours. The Boys session will begin no earlier than 1:00 pm and is expected to last no more than four hours. Specific timing for gates opening will be forthcoming from Wedgewood. 

Warm-up: There will be NO warm-up periods at the Wedgewood pool. Swimmers are expected to warm-up at our pool before coming to Wedgewood. Opportunities to offer sprint lanes for Backstroke and IM swimmers are being discussed. If a short sprint session can be accommodated, it will be announced as we get closer to the meet. 

Entry limits: 

Swimmers: Each swimmer is limited to entry into two Individual events. A swimmer must have competed in at least one dual meet during the 2021 season to be eligible.  

Teams: Each team is limited to three entries in each event, decided by 3 fastest times in that event.

There is no guarantee of entry until we are notified by the league.

There is no fee to enter. If your swimmer would like to enter one or two events, please email [email protected] no later than 12 noon on Tuesday, July 13th with which events they want to enter, ranked in order of top 3 with the first two being their top choices, 3rd being a consideration if one of the top two aren't available.
