Hi Turtles!

Despite a few hiccups from Mother Nature, practices are underway and the swimmers seem to be settling in. From Coach Dan: "The past two weeks we have focused on freestyle, backstroke, and sendoffs. We have several other skills we will be working on in the coming weeks. The goal for the Blue Gold meet is to work on team bonding, see where are swimmers are at the start of the season, and focus on areas of growth." 

We're busy gearing up for our Blue Gold Meet which will take place Sunday, June 13th. Please plan to have your swimmer there at 8am so we can start the meet at 9am. We're looking forward to cheering on the swimmers and having some fun and given it's been a little while since we've had a swim meet this is a good opportunity for everyone to settle in to the routine.

Please visit our SwimTopia page to sign-up for a volunteer role and to let the coaches know if your swimmer will not be in attendance Sunday so they create the line-up accordingly. The coaches will only put those swimmers who they feel are ready to swim in the line-up. https://fairfield.swimtopia.com/ 

The coaches are asking all swimmers 11 and up to share their thoughts on which events they'd like to swim in the Blue Gold meet by completing this google form -  https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLScnEK2fgleTrPlFQ5oU1e42-lBdeQ1GS45FRn_Tepr7pb_u6w/viewform?usp=sf_link by 5pm Friday if possible. The coaches will take their wishes into consideration as much as possible when making the line-up.

The information attached was distributed at the Parent Meeting held this past Monday. Each family needs to complete one SSL Covid Education & Acknowledgement (you can put multiple kids on one form) before the first official meet. 

We forgot to ask for t-shirt sizes for the swimmers as part of the registration form this year. If you have not yet provided a size (youth s-xl or adult s-3xl) please email [email protected] as soon as possible with swimmer sizes. If you are interested in any extra shirts for parents or others please let us know those sizes and we'll collect $15 per shirt for parents.
